I am also highlighting some smaller non-profits that do amazing things in the community.
Stef Ripple – Stef Ripple is a non-profit near and dear to me. My good friend Stefanie Ashdown was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2014. She was the friend that was always there, was always supportive and always had kind words. She lost her battle in 2017, but her legacy is carried on through Stef Ripple. Among other things, they spread awareness of ovarian cancer signs and symptoms and provide kindness boxes to newly diagnosed ovarian cancer patients. They have also partnered with Johns Hopkins to provide financial assistance to ovarian cancer patients for non-hospital related expenses. http://stefripple.org/
Stitches of Kindness – Stitches of Kindness was born during the pandemic. When the community was in great need of homemade masks, Wendy Preslan, founder, came to the rescue. She made and donated over 6,000 masks and scrubcaps. She has expanded her work to include memory bears, keyfob holders, pet accessories, and many other amazing products. All of her proceeds go to donated items as well as other local charities. https://www.facebook.com/stitchesofkindness
Pinked Perspective – Pinked Perspective is a non-profit founded by breast cancer survivor, Kara Hamilton. She provides support kits for woman going through breast cancer treatment. https://www.pinkedperspective.com/
